Werewolves - I'm pretty positive.

I usually love spoilers, but I do have a limit! But since I was running this "coverage" site, I pushed it further and further, so that I would stay informed - Yet, the limit is still as alive, although it has the strength of Piglet from Winnie the Pooh. I've been following the werewolf case closely, but Piglet has kept me from watching streams to back up my following statement: I trust completely that werewolves are in the game.

I will not go all spoiler on your ass, right before release, so I won't be writing about Sinding ( a werewolf of which we have pictures,) nor will I write about where to find other werewolves or how to become one yourself. Instead I will tease you with the fact that I now know and that you'll just have to wait; Point my nose to the sky and laugh like a proper gentleman.

I merely wish to tell you that you shouldn't worry, be troubled or be disappointed about werewolves not being in the game, or the missing ability to become one -it must be lies! I have no proof. I have no undeniable, court-worthy evidence for you. You just have to know that I don't doubt it - And then take it for whatever it means to you.

*EDIT
For those who wanted to know: Werwolves do have a "transform animation" - They don't just go 'poof' and become a werewolf.

Werewolf screens

I don't know how to express myself clearly - I feel like I am being fucked with. I don't like it. Of course I see the sarcastic irony, in Pete Hines lie about Mai'q not being in the game. Ha. Ha.

Yet, here I am. Confused. Are there werewolves or are there not? Bethesda took a long time deciding, and one time only, where we were told that if it wasn't part of the initial release, then with DLC. Good enough.
Then we were told that they wouldn't be in the game, few weeks ago (like 2?) and we had to place our money on the DLC.

Then I found this and ask myself:

Why are you messing with me?!

There's clearly a picture of a werewolf, whom we've been asked to kill, presumably by a terrified local town. However, he is clearly reasonable and might even become a possible companion.

Then I'm thinking, "Maybe Beth just meant that we couldn't transform into a werewolf."

See where I am going with this? The second picture shows active effects on Dovahkiin (us,) and it clearly shows us the effect of Hircine's ring: Transform into a werewolf any time, at will; Or as it phrases it: "Additional werewolf transformation." This suggests, and I'm inclined to say proves, that we'll be able to turn into werewolves.

I feel like we're getting banged around like feather shuttlecocks here and whilst the tension and element of surprise is exciting, the concept of a broken hope is devastating. Just putting it out there. Thoughts?

But I wanted to be a Lycan!!

I have hundreds of things that I'm excited about, when it comes to Skyrim and whilst Lycanthropy isn't exactly on the top of my priority list, I can't help but feel a little let down by the resent "spoiler" (notice quotations.) It just so happens that it was revealed that werewolves won't be a part of the initial release, disappointing many and motivating quite a lot of fans to post angry comments of Pete Hines' twitter wall - Luckily Pete Hines is bad ass and can take it; Hell, it's his job!

But yes, your concerns are not misplaced. but as always I'd like to emphasize one thing: DLC.
If you be patient and await the DLC, then I am sure we'll gain access to some lycanthropy goodness - It was always clear that the chances of getting werewolves in the initial release were slim, but now it's a matter of waiting, and since you'll be happily playing Skyrim in about 3-4 weeks, I'm sure time will pass for you easily!

Should they screw us over on the DLC, well then a riot and a series of petty mods is in order and tradition!

But hey! Whilst you wait, enjoy vampirism! (Not cool at all, I know.)

Vampires and Lycanthropy - Broken down at the end of August

We've all been following the discussion on whether vampires and werewolves will be available in Skyrim intenly. More intently than a dog following a treat! We've been back and forth, but now the ride comes to an end.

Vampirism! Those of you who's a fan of Skyrim Coverage on facebook, I've already told. Some of you may have found out elsewhere. For those of you who don't know: Vampires have been confirmed. One of the more intense Elder Scrolls fans was playing the demo at QuakeCon and shiver me timbers if his clearly restless mentality didn't send him right into the arms of two welcoming vampires, confirming their existence in the game!

Now there is just the issue people have been having: Will we, us, the players be able to become a vampire? Truthfully, Bethesda has made no such statement since the info leaked like... Two days ago from now. I can only say two things. The first one being "Cupcake-shaped earrings are neat" and the second one being a statement claiming that worrying will be for nought. Would Todd and his team really have been so naive as to include vampires and not the option to become one, knowing full well that they would have a series of disappointed fans on their hands, as well as a riot? The one kind with torches and angry mobs?!
No, of course not!
*EDIT
It has been confirmed that you can also become a vampire

That aside, lycanthropy will definitely be in the game, as I've mentioned a month ago (I think?) and I say so with great joy and excitement, as well as coffee burning my lap and scolding my thighs. If you by any chance won't find Lycanthropy to be an option once you get your greasy, yet sexy hands on the game, know that it'll definitely be included in a DLC package.

A whisper in the wind: Lycanthropy rumors

As previously mentioned, werewolves and vampirism were definitely taking into consideration by the dev team, but we were never really told which side of the coin that they landed on. We still don't know if it'll be so, but thanks to a fellow Skyrim enthusiast on youtube, we can get some good foundation for assuming so - and if not in the game to begin with, then probably via DLC. Keep in mind that I only talk lycanthropy and not vampirism here.

Now I know that you all ache for Skyrim more than Winnie-the-Pooh aches for honey and more than the Bush administration craved oil resources, so I'm am sure you will want to watch his videos, filled with neat details, which is why I linked them in the bottom of this post.

An interesting thing he mentions is that they've finished adding the characteristics of a werewolf's human-form, which includes yellow eyes and snarling!

The thing about this youtuber is that I don't know him, but you know what? I have him pegged as a good guy - he strikes me as a fellow who does this to make the Skyrim fans smile - He's the Santa Clause of Skyrim news. I'd consider myself Santa Clause of Skyrim news, but unfortunately I am often pretty damn mean.

But you should go watch - if anything, I'd call it reliable:

Vampirism and Lycanthropy so far

Clarification is in order. Many ask if there will be vampires or werewolves in Skyrim. I can tell you that this article will be very short, 'cause the only thing there is to say to that is: We don't know!

Either Bethesda wants to keep it secret in order to maintain our excitement and interest, maybe they haven't decided yet, or they simply aren't a part of the game.

I will fill you in, should more news arise.

*EDIT
I've heard a podcast with Todd Howard, stating that they have been playing around with both lycanthropy and Vampirism, but if they don't think it's gonna add to the game, then they won't include it (kinda like what they said about mounts.)
