McBraas: Carpe Dovah - Seizing the dragon

Dragon Battles can be very perilous at first, and the roar of a nearby dragon can be devastating for your confidence - Especially since they have a habit of killing (me!)

After a while of levelling, without progressing through the main quest (so much to do <3) I eventually came to kill dragons quite easily - Regular and blood. My confidence rose, with each dragon slain and I came to enjoy the thought of actually hunting one down, instead of being chased and get lucky.

As I passed by a mill, near Riften, I was suddenly attacked by 2 Blood Dragons and... Died. Who the hell said that they could team up?! FML!
Anyway, I tried again, first making short work of one, and then heroically hiding under the safe roof of the mill. Eventually I manned up and kicked its rump, shouting "You just got buttered, bitch!" for no apparent reason. Seriously.
After that event, my confidence severely fell - Guess I wasn't so badass after all, huh?

That theory should prove to be true, as I went to visit and old word wall I never quite got to read, since a Dragon priest got in the way. That was long ago and I was ready to give it another go, with my new butter catchphrase and all.

...
Then I met my first Frost Dragon. 'Nuf said.

  1. TWO DRAGONS AT ONCE!! I'd pay for that sort of encounter! For some reason the dragons in my game are few and far between and i got a butt load of words to unlock! Sometimes i just go scouting for them to no avail! Once i was trekking along trying not to think about it when i hear a roar! "Its about f'in time right?" The D-bag just flew around in the sky above me mockingly! Must have unloaded 100 arrows and like 5 shouts to get him riled up! No such luck! Stupid dragon for jerks! For some reason I have no issue with the beasts but come along a bear! FML

  2. I thought I was so badass that a mere Blood Dragon couldn't harm me. Then I encountered one alone, without any NPC martyrs around to distract it...yeah, I just got destroyed.

  3. I was finding the same thing. Dragons just weren't appearing anywhere in my game. Now though, every time I say "F this, I'm doing something else" one seems to appear out of nowhere and ruin my plans.

  4. Well did you do anything to get them to start appearing more frequently! I'm like 3 or 4 missions into the main questline, thinking they need some time to spring up!

  5. Just killed a blood dragon and didn't absorb it soul! just freakin laid there! Did it three times and nothing! Pissed! Has this happened to anyone!?

  6. Yes, it happened to me with a regular dragon also. It might be a bug, or it might be so that we don't hunt the souls of weaklings to get the awesome shouts.

  7. Chuck, that was Alduin going to raise another dovah. Notice the very dark compextion and the spikes along it back? I still have not had any problems with killing dragons and I just began a new character. Found my calling-a necromancer:')

  9. I've found frost dragons to be the easiest since i'm playing as a nord with frost resistance. also I was attacked by two blood dragons and was about to use my last health potion then die, when while fighting one on of them on the ground the other breathed fire all over us and killed it for me then flew away. badass. Also archery and dual whielding are awesome.

  10. This is kinda off topic but i was kind of disappointed with how short the fighter and mage's guild main storylines were.

  11. We do progress rather quickly, yes.

  12. Yes I witnesses Alduin raise a dovah! But the one who's soul I couldn't absorb was a blood dragon. Archery is amazing in this game for sure! Sneak and snipe is my favourite thing to do! Love those one shots!

  13. Chris just realize which post you were referring to and yes that would have made sense! It was night time and he never got too close so I couldn't get a close look at him but definitely fits the description! Weird since I encountered him in the west!
